The one of the most challenging custom houses – our team of an architect and two engineers had to find the right solution for a house that was limited to the footprint of an original structurally un-sound home on a tiny site and a steep slope. While designing a four-level compact structure, we took the opportunity of a slope and the beautiful views, overlooking the hills in Arlington, Virginia. Project features an open family area on the ground level with light-filled stair to the bedrooms one level above and one level below as well as to the utility room on the lowest level. Special design was required for a slope stabilization and sliding prevention.
