MTA North Avenue Station Connector
Bus-Rail Connector Walkway and Stair at North Avenue Station in Baltimore, MD.
North Avenue Light Rail Station, originally designed for car commuters, lacked an easy connection with the bus stops of the North Avenue bus thoroughfare, neglecting the needs of commuters seeking to make the bus-rail connection for years. As a result, commuters had to take a very long detour to follow existing paths through the car parking lot, or risk a shortcut via a very steep hill to access the station platforms.
Our project introduced a new pedestrian connector walkway with a wooden stair down the hill, allowing for a safer, more efficient and comfortable connection for MTA commuters.
