Rockville House

We worked with the owner to transform the original traditional one-story house into a contemporary home with an open living area on the main floor and three bedrooms on the second floor. The small front addition features angled walls parallel to the property lines, and has the dual function of serving as a cozy and practical entrance foyer while the flat roof supports a master bedroom balcony where the owner can comfortably observe the street. We brought in lots of light with a new open riser stair, and outfitted the new exterior walls with stucco per the owner’s request.
